What documentation do I need to bring?

Guests who do not possess the proper documentation may be prevented from boarding their flight or ship or from entering a country and maybe subject to fines. No refunds will be given to individuals who fail to bring proper documentation.

U.S. citizens are required to have a valid Passport or U.S. Passport Card.

Foreign nationals should contact their respective governments to obtain further details. For more information or to obtain a passport application, visit www.travel.state.gov or call the National Passport Information Center toll free at 1-877-487-2778.


What are onboard gratutites?

Gratuities must be pre-paid for the entire cruise at the time of final payment. This prepayment allows Ligonier more flexibility to reserve group events and group dining room arrangements.

Celebrity's suggested gratuity guidelines take in account crew members that work hard to provide and maintain the highest level of service while sailing the high seas. Whether working behind the scenes or serving your evening meal, Celebrity's staff and crew make sure you enjoy every moment spent onboard a Celebrity cruise ship.

The gratuity amount is $12.95 USD, or $15.95 USD for suite guests. Here's how it is shared between your onboard service team:
Dining & Culinary Services: $7.75 USD
Stateroom Attendant: $3.85 USD OR Suite Attendant: $6.10 USD
Other Housekeeping Services: $1.35 USD OR Housekeeping and Suite Services: $2.10 USD


What to pack?

Alaska is casual, but be prepared to dress for dinners (see Dinner Dress below). The best approach is to bring clothes that can be layered: more layers for cooler, windier weather, fewer layers for warm, dry days.

Be sure to also bring:

-A lightweight, waterproof coat or jacket, as well as a sweater or warm vest for strolling the decks of the ship
-A warm hat and gloves
-Sturdy walking shoes for every day use
-Dress shoes to accompany your dinner outfit

Dinner Dress

Formal Night gets a modern luxury reboot on Celebrity Cruises. Say goodbye to Formal Night, and hello to Evening Chic. Now, on up to two nights on every cruise, Evening Chic attire is replacing Formal attire. While dressier than Smart Casual, Evening Chic is intended to be less dressy than Formal attire.

Women should feel comfortable wearing:
A cocktail dress
Skirt, pants or designer jeans with an elegant top

Men should feel comfortable wearing:
Pants or designer jeans with a dress shirt, button-down shirt or sweater
Optional sport coat or blazer

Evening Chic means that you can get glamorous and be sophisticated in your own way. If you would like to still wear a tuxedo or formal gown on Evening Chic nights, you absolutely should.

Exercise Clothes

If you're a fitness fan or just like to stroll around the decks be sure to pack your exercise clothes. There are aerobics classes on the ships, treadmills, exercise bikes and other equipment in the fitness center on board each ship. Be sure to bring your running or aerobics shoes, swimsuit and a cover-up (for lounging, if not for warming up).

Items You Probably Won't Need

Bulky or winter-weight sweaters or jackets.
Rain boots and long underwear (outfitters throughout Alaska provide special gear needed for their activities, such as warm "moon boots" for walking on glaciers, waterproof rainwear, boots and life vests for river rafting or sea kayaking).

Don't Forget To Take

Be sure to take toiletries and prescriptions for both medication and eye glasses to aid in replacement in the unlikely event they become misplaced.
A travel alarm clock.
Binoculars if you enjoy bird watching or would like a closer look at wildlife and glaciers.
Your camera.

 

What not to pack?

For the safely of our guests, the following items are not allowed onboard and will be confiscated upon being found: Electrical Transformers, Coffee Makers, Candles, Irons, Illegal Drugs, Flammable Liquids and Explosives, such as fireworks. For security purposes, we also recommend not packing any valuables (such as jewelry) in your checked luggage.

Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports-of-call or from shops onboard will be stored by the ship and delivered to you on the last day of the sailing. Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will not be returned.  


Can I bring liquor or non-alcoholic beverages (from home or from a port) onboard?

No beer or hard liquor may be brought onboard for consumption. If you wish to bring personal wine onboard with you on the day you board your cruise, you may do so, limited to two (2) 750ml bottles per stateroom. When enjoyed in any shipboard restaurant, bar or dining venue, each bottle shall be subject to a corkage fee of $25.

Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Conduct Policy. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them.

Note: All guests must comply with TSA guidelines for transporting liquids.

 

ARE THERE LAUNDRY FACILITIES ONBOARD?

There is a full laundry and dry-cleaning service available onboard for reasonable rates.

Steamers or irons are not allowed onboard. However, there is a full laundry and dry-cleaning service available onboard for reasonable rates.

Regular service, picked up before 9AM - returned next day. For same day service, picked up before 9AM and returned same day, add 50% express service surcharge.

 

IS MY STATEROOM FURNISHED WITH AMENITIES THAT I DON'T NEED TO PACK?

All stateroom bathrooms are equipped with soap, shampoo, conditioner and a wall-mounted hair dryer. All ships in our fleet have at least one North American and one European outlet in every stateroom.

All staterooms have a safe behind the desk mirror or in the closet.


IS INTERNET ACCESS AVAILABLE FROM THE SHIP?

Internet access is available onboard for an additional fee. It is available in the Internet Café 24 hours a day until 6:00 AM on debarkation Day. Wireless access points are located in several areas around the ship*. 

In order to take advantage of the wireless service, the guest must bring their own laptop, which must have the following requirements:
• Windows-based operating systems
• Internal modem
• Dial-up Internet capabilities
• Wireless access card.  


WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE WHILE ON MY CRUISE?

While you're on the cruise you can use your cell phone to make and receive calls, send and receive text messages, access email and surf the web. To stay connected while at sea, remember to pack your phone charger.
Cellular service is available once the ship enters international waters. When you're at sea and the system is on, depending on the type of phone you have, you will see "NOR18," "901-18" or "cellularatsea" on your mobile display. You will be billed at international roaming rates, and charges will show on your monthly cellular bill from your home carrier.

CAN I CRUISE IF I AM PREGNANT?

Celebrity International cannot accept guests who will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the beginning of, or at any time during the cruise or cruisetour. All guests are required to sign a health questionnaire at check-in to ensure they are aware of our pregnancy policy. If you have already booked a cruise or cruisetour and do not meet this requirement, please contact your Travel Agent or call us at (866) 562-7625 and request a Resolution Agent.


HOW DO I PAY FOR ONBOARD PURCHASES?

All of Celebrity International ships operate on a "cashless" system, meaning your boarding card, (also known as your SeaPass card), will be used as a charge card to make all onboard purchases. Normally to activate this SeaPass® account, most guests provide a credit card, (American Express, Optima, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and Diner's Club), to have these purchases charged to at the end of their cruise. Additionally, the SeaPass system may be activated with traveler's checks, debit cards with a Visa or MasterCard logo, or cash.

A running tab of all your purchases will be kept under separate folio numbers for each guest and an itemized statement left in your stateroom the night before disembarkation. If you provided a credit card and there are no discrepancies, the amount will be charged to your account on the morning of disembarkation. If you have used traveler's checks or cash to activate the account, you will need to settle the account at the Guest Relations desk, (to either receive a reimbursement of the unused amount you originally left or to pay the balance of what you have charged over the amount of what you originally left).

Please note:
We require guests to place a deposit if they are paying for their SeaPass account with cash. There is a $500 daily limit on cash accounts for 7+ night sailings and $300 for 2/3/4/5 night sailings. Once the daily cash limit is reached, we will call the guest and inform the guest that the limit has been reached.


WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS?

There's no better way to excite every member of your family than with a Celebrity cruise vacation. They offer a huge variety of activities onboard and excursions on shore, so you can explore and have fun as a group or break out and do the things you each love most. 

Activities, arranged by age group, are available 9AM-10PM every day. Kids can participate in exciting games, sports, crafts, music, karaoke, treasure hunts, theme parties, movies and more.

ShipmatesSM (Ages 3-5): Shipmates must be completely, independently toilet-trained and diaper/pull-up free. Exceptions cannot be made. Shipmates must be signed in and out of the program by an adult age 18 or over who knows the child's password.
CadetsSM (Ages 6-8): Cadets must be signed in and out of the program by an adult age 18 or over who knows the child's password.
EnsignsSM (Ages 9-11): Based in the Fun Factory, but frequently use other venues throughout the ship. Ensigns sign themselves in/out of programs until 10PM, unless otherwise indicated on their Parental Consent Form. After 10PM, Ensigns require an adult to sign them out.

For young adults, Celebrity offers the ultimate hangout place for teens, featuring social activities, the newest gaming consoles and titles, sports activities, even teens-only late night dances. All activities are hosted and supervised by Youth Counselors. All very cool.


HOW DO I PRE-PURCHASE DRINK PACKAGES?

Purchase fantastic wine packages and select the beverage packages you want before you board.

Advanced reservations using our Pre-Cruise Planner can be reserved online by CLICKING HERE 90 to 4 days before your sail date. If you are sailing in less than 4 days, you will need to make your reservations onboard.


Shore excursions

Shore excursions can be the highlight of any cruise – especially when you make plans in advance that allow you to fellowship with members of the Ligonier Ministries group. That is why Sovereign is working with Ligonier to create our own plans for shore excursions on this cruise so that you may have a more rewarding experience altogether. Please stay tuned for details and registration.

  • Booking Your Flight

    For guests not attending the Seattle Ligonier Conference, we recommend arriving into Vancouver, BC at least one day prior to the sailing date into the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to avoid any delays that may cause you to miss the ship. For guests attending the Seattle Ligonier Conference, you may book your flights into Seattle, WA at your leisure according to the Ligonier Seattle Conference Schedule.

    For your return trip home on June 17th, please book your flights to depart after 1:00pm from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

    Bus transfers

    In order to assist you in every facet of the trip, Sovereign will be offering you affordable, secure, and monitored transportation from our hotel to Port of Vancouver and returning from Port Vancouver to the Vancouver airport with your fellow Ligonier guests. All participants in our transfers will be given priority early embarkation with Sovereign. Cost and details for this transfer will be sent out as we approach the sailing date.
