Join us for an exceptional Conference & Pilgrimage Orthodox Cruise to the roots of Orthodoxy in North America. SPEAKERS

Right Reverend Meletios

The Right Reverend Meletios (Webber) is the abbot of the St John of San Francisco Monastery in Manton, California. He has previously served as Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco and as pastor of the Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Santa Cruz, California. He was educated at Dulwich College and Oxford University in England, and holds a doctorate in psychological counseling. He was tonsured a monk at the Community of St John on the island of Patmos in 1978. For more than 30 years, Fr Meletios has served Orthodox parishes in Greece, Great Britain, Montana, California, and the Netherlands. He is the author of several books (“Steps of Transformation: An Orthodox Priest Explores the Twelve Steps” and “Bread & Water, Wine & Oil: An Orthodox Christian Experience of God) and a sought-after retreat speaker.

 

Reverend Laurent Cleenewerck

The Reverend Laurent Cleenewerck is the Editor of the “Eastern / Greek Orthodox New Testament” and of the forthcoming “Catechism of the Orthodox Faith.” He received his theological training at Saint Sergius in Paris and St Tikhon’s in Pennsylvania, and now serves as Academic Advisor at the Theological Institute of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Mexico where he completed his doctoral studies. He is currently the acting rector of St Innocent’s Orthodox Church in Eureka, California and serves on the faculty of Humboldt State University and EUCLID. He is the author of the well-received book “His Broken Body” on the Orthodox-Catholic schism and the Managing Editor of the popular Orthodox Answers web site.
